Hey Guys, I'm in need of a turn signal switch for my 66 Lesabre. The car has cornering lights and no tilt. I can find all kinds with out the cornering lights. Any ideas of where to find this part? Thanks for the help!
Those are very scarce, they were a one-year design. Yours is the 3rd of a possible 4 combinations. Your best bet would be to go and case a 66 Electra or Riviera in a wrecker, that's how I eventually found mine. The Electra I know will be the same, the Riviera should be the same, but I'm not 100% sure.
I'm junking out a '66 Electra, can't remember if it is a non-tilt column but it has cornering lights. I will try to get to the car tomorrow and check.
The column in the '66 Electra is a tilt. Is that switch different? If so, do you want the whole column? Column seems tight, turn signal switch seems tight and stays in place when engaged. Let me know.
rick1966lesabre, - If I were you I'd take him up on the whole column. The switch will be different, it's the 4th of 4 styles and possibly the rarest, this would be the upper lip of a chicken, and I'd be grabbing it to make soup. It's how I ended up getting mine.
The non-tilt switch is under the steering wheel, while the tilt switch is mounted under the dash, low on the column. They're the same 65/66, but I don't know about the non-tilt. If it were mine, and the tilt column above is good, I sure would change it out. It's very easy, and a tilt wheel is a great addition, especially for us "larger" folks!
I'm waiting for a response from the original poster. You are next up if I don't hear anything in a few more days rvlanger32.
Update! I ordered a switch off Shee-mar.com It wasn't 100% right but got it to work with rewiring the end, and top part! Thanks for the help!
