Hey all, I have a broken switch on my '65 Lesabre (BPC- non tilt) and understand theses switches are very hard to locate so are asking if anyone has looked at replacing just the plastic switch with the switch from a Shee-Mar SM200 for a '66 Slylark. The wires are colored different as is the connector however the switch appears to operate as per the '65. Please let me know ideas.

    Thanks

FYI, have completed the switch replacement, is easy and works well. Good option for new replacement.

Does this work on a 65 Skylark non tilt also?

My understanding is that the Shee-Mar SM200 which was purchased from Rock Auto (hope I can state that) is for a Skylark, Olds and Pontiac non-tilt and is listed for both years. This is the BPC style with the aluminum mount, not the Guide style which is plastic.
The Lesabre has a different mount plate, however the switch is the same.

Curious if this would be the same switch that's in my 65 wildcat non tilt auto column, I have all lights except for the right rear brake light, and after checking everything I've narrowed it down to the switch being bad in the column.

Make sure your present switch is returning to a neutral position. If it sticks in an off neutral position the brake light contacts will be misaligned which can cause loss of one of the brake lights.

Thanks Tom, good information on that.

Regarding the Wildcat switch, sorry I'm not sure, would have to check the parts listing, however I have a feeling someone on the forum mentioned the lesabre/wildcat and electra are the same.
