    Neither, really.

'65 Sportwagon front bumper is a piece from the Special, different turn signal openings.

Fenders are same as Skylark, but have more/different holes for different side-spear; you could use them, but would have to work on those holes.

for 65 the special wagons used the special front bumper. The Sportwagon used the Skylark front bumper.
All the Factory advertising lit. I have on the 65 show the 64 Sportwagon in them, not the 65. Factory Goof!!!!

As far as fenders, the sportwagon had a 120. in. wheel base where as the special had a 115 in. not sure if length was in front fenders or from front doors back.

    Hope this helps

    Ahhh.......

Al, I respectfully beg to differ.

Every Sportwagon I have ever seen, including the two I've owned and the one my Dad owned new in '65, all had the front bumper with the oval, untrimmed turn signal openings and lenses, which if I'm not mistaken is the Special bumper. The Skylark turn signals are rectangular and the lenses have trim over the front. To the best of my knowledge, the rectangular, trimmed units require a bumper with different openings; at least, that's what people have always told me when they said no, I couldn't use their front bumper on my Sportwagon.

Here's a pic of my current Sportwagon:

    Also,

The 5" wheebase difference in a Sportwagon (or Vista Cruiser) over a base model (Special or F-85) wagon comes in the rear door, which is stretched. The front clip is unaltered from the other cars, although fender trim on the Sportwagon differs. The '65 is interesting, in that it still uses the wide stainless with the satin paint insert that was much more prevalent through the Buick a-bodies in '64. The Sportagon is the only model to do this, the rest of the '65's have different fender trim and different protholes.

Bob, where did you see that red '65?

The extra lenght was at the rear doors :Smarty: , the spcial had the front and rear door the same lenght and the Sportwagon had long rear doors, AL.
