Years ago I bought a '65 GS Thin Piller Coupe from LarkOne . Had it for a few years then sold it . Out of all the cars I have owned it was my favorite . So now before I get too old to drive I'm looking for another '65 Skylark Gran Sport . HT or Thin Piller Coupe , Automatic , Dual Quad option would be nice only if it has the original twin snorkel air cleaner , no air would be nice but if it has air ok . Last but not least it must be a really nice car with no rust , and no issues . A low 1 or high 2 car would fit the bill . Thank you , George
If that's the same car I'm thinking it is, believe me when I say this, there's no way you could EVEN COME CLOSE to what it cost to do this car. If it has one of my "Mini-Starers" on it, it's the same car. Belonged to a guy I know who just sold it within the last yr. or so.
I have a post car from Texas that I bought to drive while doing a complete resto on another 65. The car can be driven anywhere, but it is not perfect. Automatic, air, numbers matching, and very clean underside for an unrestored car. Rips in original seats from dry rot,but the obsolete door panels are very nice. Somewhere around $13,500 depending on what goes with it when I sell it.
Believe me when I tell you. You would be hard pressed to find another in as good condition. The attention to detail & the meticulous nature of details by the previous owner leaves little or nothing to be desired or improved upon.
here is same car more money https://classics.autotrader.com/classic-cars/1965/buick/gran-sport/100827912
My brother has a 65 GS that is in restoration. About ready for paint. He has lost interest in the car and has been talking about selling it. I can find a few pic.s if you are interested and put you in contact with him.
Nope ... Right after I started looking my wife had a stroke . So we had to put a hold on that in favor of getting her better . So maybe someday I'll start looking again . Thanks for asking , George
Thanks Bruce , She's doing better but has a way to go . She is working hard and is in PT like 5 days a week and making progress . Is very happy the warm weather is here . Thanks again and be well , George
George, when your wife recovers and you have time to finally sit back and breathe, you may want to contact me about my 65. Its original, NOT a show car by any means, but it sports 53,000 original documented miles... PLUS, it was recently featured on Velocity's ALL GIRLS GARAGE... and I may be in the right frame of mind to sell by the time you are ready to buy... just say'n. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
