There is a rectangle plastic tube that connects to the back of the center vent. The opening on each end of this plastic tube is about 2"x8" or so. Question: How does the duct connect to the other end of the rectangle tube? Is there another adaptor that I'm missing? Pictures would be awesome. Thanks :TU: J ~
This is a pic from the chassis manual. It shows the adapter called a distributor duct assembly. Looks like it fastens to the floor box in place of the heat diffuser, and the rectangular box connects to the top of adapter.
She's a round!! (Re: 1965 Skylark AC Question - Center Vent) Dear Jeff, Michael, and V-8 Buick victims of my humor! . . . :Brow: . . . . . What's da' matta' with ya' . . . . Don't you know that there are two center vents on a 1965 Buick A-Body and they both a'-round! . . . . look! And if I was pulling your leg I would have pulled it out of the socket by now! . . . Seriously best of luck getting the old Buick parts to mesh with the Vintage air stuff. You might have a bit of trouble funneling the two center ducts from the Vintage Air system into the single OEM center vent. Cheers, Edouard :beer
Awesome... that's what I needed. :TU: plan B is what you did... I'll get it done one way or another... I don't think that I can stand another blistering pacific NW summer... all 4 days
Glad it was helpful. If you need a better pic, I can get my daughter to take one, my camera isn't too great at closeups. There was one of those pieces on ebay a while back, but I couldn't find it. I don't know if there is a way to access old listings. Also, there is a board member listing a complete 65 a/c for sale he is taking out. Might have the part you need. I have some pics of how the top end connects for a 64 if they would help any. It uses the same rectangular duct and center vent.
