When I built my car years ago I had to make my own lol

JB welded a half inch copper line in my original 5/16's unit.

I believe these have been made for a while now.

Now mine is leaking a little so where do I get a nice brand new unit with a half inch line on it?

    Thanks in advance

    Brian?

OK Larry. I got the new pick up. Nice looking piece. My buddy Eric today put it in, fit in there what seemed to be snug. Threw in some fuel and it's still leaking. I'm wondering if my aftermarket fuel tank is having some issue where the unit mounts. How can this now be the 2nd sending unit leaking. Granted the first one I just took out was a custom piece I made with half inch copper line. But now I put in this beautiful part from Rob, and the freaking thing isn't sealing properly!!!!!

I do have a little stress on my #8 Stainless Steel braised line going to it with a loop. I need to change the fitting to a 90 maybe to get the stress off the unit??????

I'm not happy. Can't even put 5 gallons in the thing.

Look carefully at the way the unit fits into the tank. There may be an issue that prevents it from sitting flat. Think I had to grind an edge down, hard to remember as it was a while back. I also used my stock O ring as it was thicker.

Well we tried to use the thicker older original O-ring but laying on the ground we just couldn't get the snap ring on. So we tweaked the ring and got it much tighter using Rob's O-ring. Untouched the unit was flopping around and clearly wasn't sealing, so tweaked the angle on the ring and got it to sit in there securely. But after putting my line on it, I'm thinking the line is cocking the whole freaking unit. Even tho it appears to be secure and not at all loose in the tank.

So my next shot is to first get a 90 #8 AN fitting on my line to take any pressure off the unit.

I'm looking to see if there's an O-ring that's inbetween the tiny one that came with the new unit and the giant stock O-ring from my original.

Or, get the car on a lift, get the fatter stock one in there. Which I believe would stop this crap.

If it leaks after these things, I'm going to have to buy a new tank. But not this crap I think I got off feepay years ago. I built the car 10-14 years ago. So who remembers.

You may be able to shorten the bottom slightly ware the sock filter goes.
