    Hey guys!
Found the site looking for info on 455 motors. I just bought a 1965 impala that has a 455 motor in it and a turbo 400 transmission. Looking for any info and guidance that you all can give don’t have the serial number on motor yet it does have TA performance valve covers on it.

    Perhaps an Offenhauser intake manifold.

Just to narrow the possibilities, use a flashlight to read the raised numbers on the block behind the intake next to the firewall.

That's a nice looking setup! Always loved two carbs in the place of one!;)

There's a stamped number between #5 and #7 plugs, that's all the way back on the drivers side. You're looking for a 2 digit code that will tell you what car the engine was originally in. Easier to see if you remove the plugs and wires but not critical. The numbers are usually only lightly stamped so be gentle when scraping any grease or gunk build up. Holding your cell phone close and snapping a bunch of pics may help see it. If the block has ever been decked they will be gone.

There is also a stamping on the front drivers side of the block just above and to the right of the highest timing cover mounting bolt. Just below where the head meets the block. Usually behind power steering pump brackets. This would be a year code and the last 6 digits of the VIN of the car it originally came in. Won't really help you much but nice to know.

Cool Impala, I was considering doing the same thing with my '65, but the sbc 383 in it runs to good with a lot of room for improvement.

Although if I find a clean older Chevy truck before the mid 80s body style change that is low on power that 383 may find a new home and then the Impala will be in need.;)
