Is the "355 Wildcat" the correct motor for the 65 GS 401?

Also, if he bought it from the orignal owner, wouldn't it be a 2 owner car not a one owner car?

    It is beautiful!

I dont think its a GS,it looks like a Skylark with Gran Sport emblems,GS`s never came with the side molding like that or with a 340 engine.

    Thanks

OK, that would make more sense regarding the motor.

I know that my 66 Skylark 300 2bbl had the Wildcat 310 (based on tq rating), so I knew that the 401 would have to have a Wildcat 4XX motor. I was guessing that the Wildcat 355 would have been either a 300 4bbl or a 340 of some sort.

    ...still pretty though.

    355 4 bbl

The 355 was the torque rating for the 4bbl 300 in 64-65 i would guess its NOT a GS:grin:

I have a 300 but no 4 bbl. I think mine has a 1barrel carb the thing is so small. Why no 4bbl on my car??
