Wow nice! Looks very crisp! Like the color combo to! Looks like vinyl top was added as it is not on the tag! If it is clean on the bottom and solid in the trunk I think it's a deal can't build one for that price! Going to play the lottery today!
I think that’s Sahara Mist body and painted roof (SS) and the third letter (A) is black wheels(?). I found a Fremont built ‘65 a few years ago that had AAA and was black with a black painted roof and most likely had black steel wheels. Patrick A guy on a 442 site is convinced the paint code for the wheels indicated the steel wheel with poverty caps choice and the that wheels were painted with enamel not lacquer. Also, however, I see ‘C27’ might mean ‘roof cover soft trim’, so maybe this means ‘paint the whole car Sahara Mist then put a black vinyl roof on’. Anyone?
The vinyl top shows that the car was parked outside for some of its life. You can make out the stains in the corner of the rear vinyl top despite the gallon of Armorall on the roof. That being said, Oregon isn't exactly a "Sun baked" state.
If you go on the website there are more pictures! I see missing core support cross bars, new weather strip is needed, front bumper is a little tweaked, little bit of tarnished in door seams, right door jam too! Still is a cool car ! They say there is a pop that’s a plus! Has original style 65 wheels!, and if you look at the dash pic the oil change card is from great falls MT!
I like it. Any thoughts on the white headliner? I was thinking of doing that to make it less dark in the black interior car.
The white headliner in the listed car sure has the effect of brightening up the interior . If your window surrounds are black like this car, I think it could all tie in nicely. Was it offered from the factory with choice of headliner back then? does it affect the value of the car if you change it? Do you care about that?
Could be, but having spent the better part of 25 years living in Vancouver B.C. ( the Seattle of Canada), I know from rain. It's still a nice car, but that's that stain on the vinyl is from water repeatedly running off the rear window.
My black interior '64 has silver headliner. But from what I have heard, the silver isn't available. Mine needs replaced, so I bought a white kit. I like the way the white brightens it up on that car, but the silver headliner looks a lot classier.
Silver is available through www.amesperf.com. They sell GTO stuff but the headliners are the same for the other A-body cars. Silver is only available in the star pattern, which is all I've ever seen in silver. It is not available in the perforated material. Check out their website, item number A330.
Nice looking car but that roof is crunchy under that vinyl top . You can see all the lumps around the back window since it's all glossy. Those lumps equal rust likely swiss cheese. A good soft vinyl top doesn't need all that shiny stuff.
