Some of the worst light and results for exterior pics I have ever seen. I cannot tell for sure the colors. A suspicious person might ask if the detaled pics in good light were omitted intentionally.

    1 of 23?

Is this car for real? The owner sez it's 1 of 23 cars made with the dual quad 401 option, etc. I'm a newbie, hadn't heard of these.

$25,000 on restoration? The resto must have taken place a long time ago. The underside looks like its got 10 years of road grunge. I would be embarrassed to show the underneath I was boasting that I spent that kind of money on this resto! However, if the description is correct it sure would be quite a car to own! :Brow:

As far as I know, 2 fours were never available on the GS400, and never on a 401 ci. at all. Wasn't the "Super Wildcat" option a dealer installed item on the large series cars only? I know a lot of folks did just that to 401's, using the big car parts, but not the factory. A factory Skylark GS 425 with 2 fours would have been the ticket in 1965. Back in those days, insurance was the big expense, which is why they held the muscle cars to 400 ci., often underating the horsepower values too.

    25,000 ?

And they couldn't replace the front springs? Lets just put a wedge in it to increase the spring rate.

25 grand spent and they couldn't even replace the ball joint boots. Nothing like old grease and dirt caked on to make things look nice. Something about that floor pan picture just doesn't look right either. Looks like some spray on undercoating to cover what?

Probably right about one thing though. Buick GranD Sports are really rare. More so than your common everday Gran Sport models.

Makes you wonder why he would post those under body shots at all, it looks to be a very nice car, clearly needing under carriage cleaning and detailing, but none the less a nice car. And if he paid to have everything done, the engine rebuilt, trans rebuilt, interior reupolstered, any needed body work and paint job, new weather stripping, new wheels and tires, maybe some electrical work, then I believe he could have $25k in it (not infering all those things were done, but it's possible, even likely) . But why those nasty under body pic's to scare people away:Do No:, spend a couple hundred bucks and have somebody pressure clean it for ya at least.

dual 4-Barrel carbs were never a factory a option. Neither were aluminun brake drums. Dual 4-barrel carbs were dealer installed ordered through the parts dept. I own a 65 GS Conv. 4-speed (2nd owner since 1978) with a dealer installed Super Wildcat option that the first owner had the dealership install along with 3:90 gears ( dealer installed gears voided the factory warranty) the rear carburetor has the correct 4-speed carb # (3924S) auto's were (3925S). So if this guy says its a factory set-up ask him to give you the rear carb #.
Hope this helps anybody that is interested in that car.
