I thought I had one but it has a male end and the wireharness is a male end.
    Thanks

Have one from a 65. It`s probably the same as the trunk lid is. I`ll check out the condition and let you know after work this afternoon.

Hooked it up and it works great. I can send a picture to your email. Having trouble loading pics on this sight. Need to reduce the size. Still learning.

I realize this is an old thread, but I'm looking for info on installing a trunk light I purchased off Ebay on my '64 Skylark. I've got all the wiring, it powers up just fine....but it doesn't appear to have a control switch anywhere (mercury or mechanical). What turns it on and off? And also, where does the actual light bulb assembly attach to the lid? I've scoured Google images for hints but can't find any clues. Does this look like the correct assembly? I appreciate any and all help!

I’m sending some pics of my 64 trunk light. It’s a project car that I haven’t had very long so I don’t know what turns it on and off yet but here is the placement. Hope it helps.

That looks like the right light. Dave's has the wrong bulb in it. The light has a built in mercury switch. You can test it by hooking the orange wire to (+) on your battery, and touching the metal bracket that holds the bulb to (-) ground. Check the bulb contact for corrosion first, and check the bulb to make sure it only has one contact. The bulb bracket still has to be at a similar angle for the bulb to light. If it still doesn't work, you can tap the bulb holder on something hard...and that will probably get it working again. They rarely fail.

I really appreciate the pictures and the steer on the bulb size. That large bulb came with the purchase, for some unknown reason I assumed it was the correct size :) I guess that's why they
say if you ass.......... (you know where I'm heading with this). Anyway, I've got it installed and it is working perfectly!! :):) I love this forum!
    Thank you again,
    Dave
