What is the true average weight of the 63 to 65's? Iv'e seen mentions of 4200lbs. I can't see it near the 66's and up which has to be 4500lbs and way up.. I remember seeing a factory 1965 ad stating the 325hp 401 at a 16 seconds 1/4 mile and the 360hp 425 at 15.5 seconds. Just trying to do some silly math in my head.. Does anyone remember that ad and can post a pic..
Shipping weight, '63 : 3998 Shipping weight, '64 : 3951 Shipping weight, '65 : 4036 Shipping weight, '66 : 4180 Being a '59 guy, I can give you some comparisons there. 59 Invicta 2-dr hardtop gains 120 lbs going from 'shipping weight' to 'curb weight'. Options will add to that. For my car: shipping : 4274, curb : 4394, plus options (radio/antenna, PS, dual exh, Safety Group): 4481. So a '65 with no options should be around 4160.
Thanx WQ..Nice guide line to go by. You have the same year and model Invicta sled that Pop Kennedy ran something like a low 14 second 1/4
Just a guide & a FYI. My '64 Riv. I bought new, no options other than posi, has run a best of a 13.902@98MPH@4400pds. Tom T.
Wow, without giving away to many secrets, does it have headers, the 3.42's and how much did your rockers cut the et's
NO HEADERS, 3.90's, .4 & 4MPH & re-worked advance in dist. & M&H's purchased in 1970. When it was COMPLETELY stock in '68 ran a best of 15.2. Never did it run as slow as 16.2-16.6 as most reported at the time. Tom T.
