Good morning everyone, I'm looking for a 1960 Buick for my father. He finally has decided to retire after 50 years as a GM Tech/Adviser. He is 73 years old and put 4 kids through college on his dime. His biggest hesitation the past few years is not being sure what to do come retirement. He helped my brother and I get into the hobby by helping us restore my brothers 68 Camaro and my 68 Chevelle when we were in high school. We both have our cars to this day. I'm currently building a 55 Chevy truck with C4 Corvette suspension and Nailhead with Jim Inglese Webers. Anyway, I would like to find him a car to tinker on. Not a major project as he just has a two car garage. Something like a nice older restoration or driver he can enjoy as is but, detail and improve as time and money permits. He has expressed his love for the 60 Buick for several years and would consider a 4 door, 2 door or Convertible. I honestly think he would enjoy a 4 door without the window pillars best. Anyway, I'm conducting the same search for a 58 Cadillac as that was the car he grew up driving after his father bought one new and he has found memories of that one as well. He worked for a Cadillac/Chevrolet dealer for the first part of his career and now is at a Buick/GMC dealer the past 15 years.
He is not. He lives down in Southern California. I plan on driving there in May and I have a truck trailer so, if I find something on the West Coast I can pick it up and deliver it to him.
Chris, I just realized I recognize your car. I think I emailed you about trading for my 55 Truck I'm building a little while back. I have been working overseas on a 28/day on 28 day off schedule so it has been hard to keep up the motivation on a project. I have it about ready for paint though and the seat has been built. Its close to being done now so, I'm just charging ahead every other month.
yep, that was me. very cool truck that you are building!:TU: I have a hard time keeping motivated with small projects, I can only imagine how hard it would be on something like that. Good job!
This is a car that was at "wild bills" in Alamogordo, but I believe the yard has closed. Electra, I believe.
