Yep, and the whole time you're thinking to yourself "surely someone has done this before". Maybe they have, but there was no internet for them to document and tell everybody, so only their friends knew about it.

Exactly! And that is why it is also important to be as involved as possible with the makers of these products. I'm sure any feedback they get from customers is gold.

It looks like the left side would fit my Buchev Pickup. I don't think that the right side will. I'm going to talk with TA. Perhaps they make a right side shorty for a '65-'66 Skylark GS. The GS manifold does fit my truck, so perhaps the shorty headers for that application would fit as well. Again, thanks for the photos.

Even though being "that guy" who is the first to accomlish the impossible is a very frustrating, it pays off at the end of the day. A while back with the same 59 nailhead, I wanted to put on my Original A-5 compressor WITH the offenhauser valve covers that I got. Go figure, the original ac compressor brackets dont fit over the valve covers.... SO, I spent a few weeks fabbing up a set of brackets and you know what? I am, as far as I know, the only person with the original compressor AND offenhauser covers like that... It feels great...

Thanks, It's good to see those pics, I for one have always been hesitant to purchase a set of those for my '65 cat... Looks like they'll fit it just fine... It's always a good idea, at least for me, to SEE it, before I try it these days.. When my stock manifolds finally go, I may give em a try... Hopefully not to soon though....

Nice. :TU: Did you make them from scratch, or modify your existing brackets?

Old, Old, hod rod saying,,,, ''Unless some factory somewhere makes it, if you dont build it yourself, then you cant have it''......:Smarty:
It is indeed a good feeling to have a one off item that you have fabbed up yourself.... it makes you know inside that you can handle anything....:Smarty:

Yes, I made them from scratch, 3/16th plate metal and my trusty Tig welder. They resemble the stock brackets but are spaced to raise the compressor up and over about 1.25inches each way... Ill get around to posting some pictures either on this thread or on the thread I started originally for them...

Anything other than stock valve covers wont work with an original ac bracket... Period. You have to make them or sacrifice ac, OR have ac and stock covers... Then there's my brackets...

I have some time on my hands now that I am out of work for a while. I ordered a set of TA Perf. Nailhead Shorty Headers for a 65? Riviera. They are just like the ceramic coated ones pictured a few posts back. The Passenger side DOES FIT, but when I air my bags fully out, one primary hits the control arm. The Driver side will NEVER fit, period. The craftsmanship of the header was also VERY poor for $537.00 , uncoated headers. I have also figured out that the only way to have a set of headers that will fit like I want/need is to make them.

Would anyone else be interested in me making them a set while its all fresh with me? It will be 2" CLR with a few 3" CLR bends 1 5/8 Mild steel Tubing to be coated or chromed by you, TIG welded, 4 into one design.

Just testing the waters, I would love to help out anyone else in the community that wants a set as bad as I do but cant find one.
    Thanks, Will...

I just REALLY hate the way those sandersons look. Ive seen those for a long time, and have never thought they looked good enough to put on my car.

Passenger side is done. I am having a hard time with the driver side now... A really hard time...
As you can see, the passenger side is 4 into 1, the driver side seems impossibe to incorporate a collector for 4 into 1. Would it be a bad Idea to make one side 4 into one, and the other a tri-y?
