    Hello Adam,

You are right, it makes it alot easier if you can get brand new panels. The only disadvantage of those is that the fit like cr#$%. They all have to be hand massaged to fit properly. I used new pans and parts from a parts car and the originals fit much better. I also made alot of the smaller patch panels from flat sheet metal by bending and forming it. It was always a challenge to get it right.

On the other hand: how many 57 Chevy's do you see at car shows and how many 58 Buicks? That makes it worth to me to have to go one step further.... Thank god my body is rock solid without even a pin hole, thanks to the dry Colorado air.

    Chris

    Back on track...

Fender patches are complete. I am going to try to get these in primer and smoothed out, possibly paint the jambs and install before the Heartland Regional in September...oy...lots of work. Good thing I took off work the week of the regional.

This little spot rusted through, just in the outside of the brace behind the fender skin...appears to be a good spot to catch water and garbage.

Both fenders we completely rusted through below the headlights, and were a bit of a pain to repair.

My garage has been a bit crowded with all of the body panels stuffed in there lately. The trunk lid and hood are sitting behind the car, and the other two doors are on the other side of the car.

Been following this thread for a long time, can never wait for the next installment to see what wizardry you've done Adam; it's absolutely incredible! I could only wish in my wildest dreams to be able to do work like that and have it come off looking so good! You are the master!

That 1958 Limited is so big, you better call it Tasmania.
(Hobart is just the capital city)

    Jambin'!!

The color appears to be a slight bit more purple than the original, but it's in artificial light right now. I may roll it outside tomorrow and see how it looks. It shines like crazy, too. Looks wet...love it.

The color combo looks stunning, though! I am pleasantly surprised at how well the white compliments the Blue Mist.

Dad came over this afternoon and helped me install the doors. They line up pretty well, but there are a couple spots I might have to tweak, since it seems like the doors are not true. This sure does light a fire under my a$$ to see it put together this far!

I finished stripping the fenders, primed, and shot the jambs so I can (hopefully) install them sometime during the week nights. I will be in Cincinnati this coming weekend, so there won't be any progress.
