Looking at ways to run an SP1 intake in my ‘66 Skylark Stage 2 build. I’ve done a ton of research, but still not satisfied with the results. Some of the framing under my GS hood has been trimmed by a previous owner. I don’t want to modify this nice hood anymore than it already is. I was thinking about trying a 14X2.31” K&N filter and Extreme lid on a Holley Sniper EFI with a Holley 1” drop base and SP1 in my street car. I’m not a fan of the Xtreme lid after doing research, but I’m afraid the low profile filter will choke this engine. Thanks

    I don't know how much clearance there is under a 66 hood, but a 14 X 3 filter fits on my 70. I have a 1 1/2" drop base.

Looks great Larry. On my mild built 455 I’m running a 14X3 filter on a Performer with a 1 1/2” drop base and a 3/4” Edelbrock 4 hole spacer on top of a Q-jet. It’s a tight fit. Do the TA frame pads and mounts add any height? I can’t remember. Thanks
