Does anyone know what "A 45" stamped on a 12 bolt ring gear means and possibly who manufactured it?
There are no other stampings or markings located anywhere else that I could see. I did manage to count the teeth on both ring and pinion and it's a 3.55:1. Thanks in advance for any info.

jUST A INSPECTOR TAG... THE PINION should have the same marking also. (I have seen A46 and other letter number suffix on GM 12 bolt gears also. )
Some 12 bolt chevy gears are stamped on the back machined surface of the gear sandwiched between the carrier and the ring ...you can only see it when the ring is removed from the carrier. :( Great huh?
THE pinion head should have the stamping of the part number and he 11 - 39 and date code... spin the carrier till you can see the pinion flat head. Should be there.
