Buick that is. :bglasses: My 1st Buick was a GN and I got it 11 years ago today to the day.I've had this car longer than i've ever had a woman or owned another car. This started me down the path as a "Buick enthusuast". January of '92 I joined the GSCA and attended the Buick GS Nats in BG KY that April and became hooked on "Buicks in general" ever since. After the 1st Buick (it was just a toy) I bought a '86 GN for a daily driver (it had always been a driver) and from their the rest have been different V8 Buicks including a Wildcat and a Lesabre that was just toys. After all this time and Buicks thru the years i'm down to the original one I started with after selling all the others. www.geocities.com/buickman69 It's an old site that needs work but the pictures are from 8-'01. I was the 2nd owner and the car hadn't been in the rain (very clean undercarriage) and always pampered so I've kept the tradition except for turning it into a 10sec street car  I have been around T-Rs since they were new and got my !$$ kicked by a few in my slow-stang and I-ROCZ so you know the old saying "if ya can't beat-em, join em". I never thought of Buicks being a fast/muscle car till I went to the '92 Nats and seen all the V8s perfoming along with of course the T-Rs. So how long have you had yours??
Mine will have been in my garage 12 years this coming April. Hard thing to believe is I'll have had my 66 Impala for over 17 years coming in 2003. I'm trying to beat Ken Mild "King of the 17 Year Resto's"
mine is 15 1/2 years. bought it at the age of 17 in 1987 and still have it.its come a long way since then, alot of blood, sweat and tears!! with alot of help from my dad.
I've had the '70 GS since Sept. '98 after wanting it since 1970. It's a much better car now than when I got it. The '68 Riviera I've had since a week ago Saturday. It WILL be a much better car than when I got it.
Had my '68 21 years now... and it still is not done... ... Basket case when we got it.. I was 15.. ... Got it put together, in primer, with a 455 when I was 16.. drove it that summer, and at school, when I was 17.. had it my graduation night from High School.. :then:.. Pop's decided it was "his car"... ok.. so I then bought a '70 Skylark Convert, cloned it to a GS, finished it.. and so on and so forth.. Went racing... The '68 just sat.. never was worked on, or driven.. About 5 years ago, Dad calls me up.. and says.. "you want this car"?? Sure... went over and picked it up, parked it next to the shop, and there it sits, until the point in time comes that I can get it done.. Have been collecting parts though..:TU:
I have had : 1940 Buick Super Convertible since 1972 1972 GS 455 Convertible since 1990 1937 Buick Special street rod since 1997 1963 Electra 225 2dr since 1998 1991 Park Ave ultra since 1998 1967 Corvair 500 coupe since 1999 1968 Chevy 1/2 ton fleetside since 1999 I have owned over 180 cars and wish I still had most of them.
Bought my 70 GSX stg 1 - 4 spd on the way to the 86 GSCA NATS. It has been upgrade to STAGE 2 cast iron heads, orig b-4-b, 850 holley etc. Also, I have the orig 10 bolt 4.78 cone style posi rear, I'm sticking with the 3.64's at this time. Bought my 68 Sportwagon 15 years ago on Dec 24 with 33K on it to tow the X. It has 60K on the clock, but I can't tow anymore. The 4.10 spool rear, the 4200 stall conv. and the 12.5 to 1 464 engine doesn't tow well, but 10.45 @ 128 is much more fun!!! Have a great holiday! Bill Lagna "Sportwagon from HELL"
Have had my 69 Stage 1 since Sept. 23,1971......wow 31 years.:eek2: My 67 GS400 since Dec. 26,1981 and my 70 has been in the family since new (I got it in 1978). The others have been more recent. Almost hard to remember a time I didn't have some of these cars. Mark
Ummmm....15 months now, almost to the day. It's the first one I'VE owned personally...the first one I was exposed to was my oldest brother's back in the mid to late 70's, until I totalled it out....oops! ou:
70 GS 455 in the tens and in my possession since 1977 Longer than Ive been married I have owed a GS Now thats devotion......!!:Brow: :TU:
I've had my 66 4spd hardtop for 20 years, my 70 Stage conv. for 15 years, my 66 hardtop for about 6 years, and my two convertible 66's for 1 year and 6 months, respectively. It's funny, but my dad never kept a car more than two years. I must be a mutant or something.....I know the Chevy guys think so.
how long? Lets see,I ordered it in november 1968,and took delivery in February 1969,so I guess I've had my 1969 all original GS 400,bench seat 4 speed gran sport,17000 miles, about 33 years and 10 months.Whew, who'd a thunk it way back then!In fact I have a pic of son "painekiller" in his car seat ,smilingggg. gary
'70 GS 455 for over 20 years. (not the green one, it's a skylark, although I've had it over 12 years!) It's time for a complete re-do, too, so I'm collecting parts!
Ordered my GN Feb-12-87, took delivery on May-8-87, Looks like 16 years this spring. Amanda bought her GS in August of 90.
I've had the blue one since 1984. Oh, a picture of it is under the "Tips on using the board" section. :Brow:
I've had my '70 GS conv. since 1982, when after 7 years of pleading, my uncle finally sold it to me due to a divorce (bummer for him, good for me)! It's taken me this long to scrape together enough change to have JW perform some of his magic on it (sorely needed since I bought it). I am SO looking forward to this coming summer! (forged pistons, aluminum heads, etc,:Brow: )
I have had my 68 GS 400 Convertible since August 1986. I have been around Buicks since I was 4 when my Dad bought a New 69 GS 400 bench seat Auto on the column family car/ street bruiser.
