Looking to restore this . Other than, should this be chassis black with a natural alum nose..... Can I simply swap in an Autozone rebuilt components?

    Thanks all,
    Mike

Should be chassis black with a natural alum nose. Switching guts is ok if the case magnets are ok, not the best way but should work.

Why not have Stellar rebuild it to like new condition?

Bushings will likely need to be replaced at the front and rear of the starter.
    Brushes are probably worn.

Try to find a local rebuilder to help you with the internals.

Component swap would probably work, but I doubt if it would have the correct field windings. It depends on what they give you.

Thanks guys. Honestly, I enjoy the research, breakdown and repair. The field winding are on the armature? Do I check the resistance?

    Thanks again,
    Mike
