    Was an ST300 a power-glide?

Was the ST300 a one year only trans? Or only a one year standard trans in the skylarks? Are bellhousings the same as the TH350?

Check out that rust. Depending on how bad, I wouldn't buy if I didn't have a way to get that taken care of soon. The stuff will spread and cost will go out of control. If it's light surface rust, or something that you can do a little work on to hold what you have got till it gets the right work that's fine, but you can't leave rust alone.

The picture of the CA. car seems to be a 2dr sedan . Did they ever make a G.S 2dr sedan ? Thanks Ed

Same concept (2-speed), but not exactly the same tranny, I believe.

Not 1 year only. Not sure what all prior years got it. TH350 will bolt in place, yes. My 68 has had a TH350 swap.

Ed- yes. The 1967-1969 GS California's were based on post coupe bodies. Basically, the California Buick dealers got together to offer a 'cheap' GS. So, you got the GS grille, GS hood, GS emblems AND the GS 350 'high compression' 350 CI engine.
Two issues that you will ALWAYS encounter: the VIN comes back as a special deluxe (which is correct) and the ONLY way to confirm a GS Cali is by ORIGINAL PAPERWORK- build sheet, original window sticker, POP...

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

...not the post cars. 400" Big Blocks were available in the 2 door GS400 coupe and Convertible.

The 400 / 430 / 455 share the same external dimensions and only differ (for the most part) by the cyl. bore size.

99 out of 100 people would never know the difference from a 400 to a 455
