Thanks for the reply Mark... The blond actually learned to drive on a 1951 big 'ol blue Buick... her mom, RIP, used to brag that it was a "4 holer" referring to the front venti-ports. Big old 4 door that sat from 1973 to about 2000 in the dirt under a tree; almost got talked into that one once LOL...

I see where this '65 deal is going, and its gonna get outa hand in a real hurry. Theres guys FBing it from as far away as Joisey, by the toinpike haha... For us its a 6 hour drive to go "look". All the working capitol is tied up in the dorf, so its about 6 months early for this, what a bummer. Please try to take some pics for everyone here, especially that dang rubber trim in the trunk... Curiosity killed the cat ya know??

Would be nice to see it hosed off at least! ws

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

The bidding could turn into a wallet measuring contest, if its getting that much interest.

Even if it goes cheap, one could get upside down in this Cat really fast. If you farmed it out for restoration, you will spend another 50-100K for a car that may never bring 50K restored at resale.

I guess I'm old school Jim. $100K into a car that used to be had at 1-2 years old for $2K just wouldnt be fun to go beat on. I like the driver concept. Mechanically above average, and aesthetically acceptable. I RARELY think about resale unless its a flip, and even then, just enough to justify the asking price. It's where you enter the game at the end of the third inning that matters.
Heck, Ive got 46 years and well over $300K in my boat thought would be a tough sell at $30K. Its the love of the sport for me. ws

I think you would have to either know how to do it all yourself or want to own it forever. I think it is a narrow niche for this one.

They call that "Being Married to it..." LOL... I hope I fall into the first category. I "try" to do all my own stuff, sometimes less than concourse, but an "E" for effort! ws

I keep saying, they all don't need to be frame off restored. Sometimes you can just drive them as is. I bet that thing would shine up like a new penny

The only thing that would make this better is a set of dual 4's under the hood !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice car to start with .

Firewall pic looks like some clutch parts may be missing. I think there is a spring that goes to the left of the master cylinder. Mr. Nagel can shed some light on it.

Pats on the job right now PMing the auction place. We'll see if they reply...It was due today. Kind of a screwy system; highest bid over the asking price. Is that almost a sealed bid on a reserve? They wouldnt take a bid over the phone, so it was in person only. How many guys could waste a 600 mile trip on a whim? ws

Somewhere on a Facebook page there was a comment that it had stayed in the family and went for somewhere over $8000.

HOLY DRO's !!! Thats fine and dandy as long as the buyer isn't trying to hold on to gramps' dream car and never touches it. ws
