shift seal

    Can any one tell me please whether you can change the shift seal on a super turbine 300 trans without removing shaft or trans from car.many thanks paul

    OK, now we have something to work from & a few questions for you. I know that the 1st. year TH400 the piece connected to the shifter shaft was welded on & the ONLY WAY to change this seal was to drop the pan & remove the shifter shaft. Later year, 1965 & up the part was held with a 9/16ths. nut & the seal could be replaced by just removing the nut & the shift part.
    W ether it is the same on a TH300 I don't know, BUT it's not hard to take a look & if it's not welded on the tool mentioned makes the job much easier.
