Anybody running 15x8 wheels on the front. I'd like to switch back to rallye wheels and would like to have the widest wheel and tire I can. I have a 2" drop all the way around. Ideally I'd like to have 255 60 15 on a 8" rim on all 4 corners....I don't think that's possible though...please correct me if I'm wrong.

    I think I will end up with a 15x8 w/275 60 15 rear and 15x7 w/235 60 15 up front.

I'm going for a protouring on rallye wheels look....wide, low, classic w/ modern brakes and suspension. As opposed to the raked, staggered drag racer look.

255/60 fit fine on 7" wheels
I don't recommend 8" steel wheels on the front. Too much weight for the suspension to control. It's hard on parts.
Also 275/60 is a very tall tire and will kill the axle ratio.

For a low and mean look I'd do 245/60's up front on 7's and 295/50s on 8s to 10s

I agree, 15x7 chrome steel Buick wheels with 245-60-15 is the widest/heaviest tire and wheel combo I'd do on the front

Would love to know the tire size on it if someone here knows

...not first time I've heard 15" steel wheel weight concern. How much more does 1" wider rim add? Asking because I like 8" look and am considering swapping my vintage Center Line billets for Buicks...

I've had no issues with my GS 455 conv with 15x8 ralleys on the front with 245/60/15 Cooper Cobras. It's also lowered in the front about an inch.

Have you considered the larger diameter replica wheels? Like 18”? When I think pro touring I picture much less sidewall than in the old days. More room for larger disc brakes on all four corners, too.

    Yeah! Like that Cruzn !

I think your trim removal is a small touch of modern look that goes really well with the large diameter wheels. Nice job

I’ve got an 18x8 on the front of my 66 with a 255/35 tire. With the dropped springs the only clearance issue I had was the top fenderwell bolt. I removed it and installed a tall ball-joint set that increases my camber pretty drastically on compression. Works great now. Not that it matters but the rears are 9” wheels with a 275/35 tire.
