That's an awesome example of a "beater muscle" ride,..I'd spray some white primer on the right side, put carpet and door panel and raise hell
$5,000..... reserve not met. I guess if you already have a body, and are savy with a paint gun... But still need to shell out for the interior, chrome, and the hard to find little things... That's even before you get into the driveline. Plus it's white on black.. Although the option list looks pretty good.
This is the condition we used to buy our cars in back in the day. That is if we could find them as nice and complete as this one. Duane
That thing is a decent driver up here! I’m still in. There is a guy about 30 miles from me that had a nice 69 roller. He was at 1500 and it has a 12 bolt Chevy posi with 373’s. That would bring $1000 fast so a great parts car for $500 would fix a lot of the major rot on this car
" Was thinking the exact same thing, cars in this condition around 1980 - 81, them was the days." Exactly. That type of car is what we were always looking for, a basically un-molested original car that needed redone. Duane
It's the ROT that kills this one for me. I just cannot do a rotted out car (again). The 70 I have now needs so much welding.. Not as much as your 70 Chevelle needs..LOL, but pretty close . If it was a 1 of 77, then it would be a different story...
That's not ROT, I can show you ROT. Nothing had more rot then the Chevelle, but that's just a case of digging your heels in and not letting something die. Duane
That's what my son and I are doing with the 70 4 speed ragtop. I bought it for parts and then discovered it was 1 of 41... And still retains its' original 455 engine, OO code rear end, and all of the 70 correct 4 speed parts. So, we're doing the same.... Digging in and not letting this one die. The good thing is parts and information are easier to obtain, compared to a 69 (as you are now painfully aware ).
TT- of course!!!! I think I still own the OO code posi from that car!!! It ended up in Hicksville and that was the end of that!
Yes, from the Hamptons to PA. back to L.I. What a car that must have been new, stage1 four speed pearl interior with black top. I think I sold the fan shroud to someone here on the forum.
