Heres what under my hood POs work. Tall VC with KB roller rockers. Valve covers were notched to fit. In order to remove VC need to loosen vacuum booster and swing it out of the way. 4 handed job The brakes Do stop fine. disk drum 15 inches vac at idle. Im looking at this. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rsd-g813109
I hear you on the HB. I put that on my 93 dodge cummins... There is a 66 or 67 Chevelle in the local yard Manual brakes.. I''ll look at that later today..
Got the master cylinder & linkage off the 67 Chevelle yesterday. Today pulled the power brake unit of the skylark. Got me a manual MC from NAPA. Brakes work fine. But what a difference (harder to push).... Brought the peddle up quit a bit. Use to be a clean swing from the throttle to the brake peddle. Now I got lift my foot a bit to land on the brake peddle.
Its different but I prefer manual brakes myself a 7/8 bore will require less peddle psi, I assume you did use the other hole in the pedal also? You can adjust the pedal position slightly with the Clevis a few turns down there will equal 1/2in on the pedal
Yes I did raise the pedal Hole & brake light switch. upper holes for the 90 degree shaft... 7/8 bore. yipes. This is the one I got https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NMAM2062 it does not state manual brakes. This one states power.https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NMBP1890DW I got delco moraine single piston calipers front ,,, Drums in the rear.
Yea those are both large bore Napa 36367 is a 1in bore Vette unit https://www.pro-touring.com/threads...r-cylinder?s=8e7d0db2b25e066ec1be2eaf509a23ca Has some options for a 7/8 bore
Okay I think I get it..smaller the bore easier the push. correct. 7/8'' comfortable to push kind of like power ,, 1'' firm,,, 1 1/8 hard to push=like power brakes with no vacuum... well not that hard. I found this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Brake-Mast...449597&hash=item1a2be01036:g:~TwAAOSwfHFbnHb-
I was thinking hydro boost.. I had to go bigger to keep the rear wheels from locking up with my dead RWAL rear wheel anti lock..
Ive been hunting the Skyhawk 7/8 MC not much luck... the ones I'm seeing good pics of and read about are for power brakes. The piston bore ( rod inserts into) is shallow on the PBMC.. approxomatly 1/2 inch deep... MBMC bore is approximately 1 1/4 deep. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NMAM1922 This one I love the picture Made In U S A
I ended up the 1'' corvette. Not bad. I still got to adjust peddle height.. Definitely looks better much easier to R&R the valve cover.
