Hi there! Can someone please help me to replace the colorcoded vacuumhoses to the Connections on the ac/heater vacuum-control? They are marked 1-2-3. The colours on the hoses are green, red and yellow. I,ve searched on Google a whole bunch of hours now, and my brain is overcooked! The hoses was loose from the beginning.... Thanks! Best reguards, Peter from Sweden
Thanks Goran! That´s a nice tip! I see You`r a Swede too, but we can take it in English because of all other members. My problem is that i dont now were the 3 hoses were connected from the beginning. The hoses are marked with colours. Blue, red and yellow, and the 3 connections on the Control is marked 1,2,3. //Peter
I don't have a 64 manual, but the 66 manual says the #1 goes to the "Outside door diaphragm", the #2 goes to "vent heater door diaphragm", and the #3 is the source of vacuum. The colour code I have here doesn't match yours, so you still have to figure it out. So the outside door would be located near the passenger's side kick panel, where the firewall vent would be, the vent-heater diaphram is in the middle under the dash somewhere, and the source should come from the can out under the hood. So what I would do is find a source, hook it into #1, and then move the selector to "heater", that will only open up the outside door, so I'd then play with it until I found which of your lines activates that. (You should be able to hear it open and close. The "vent" position will open both; and that supposedly lets cool outside air in. You'll know if you have the outside door open when you turn on the fan and get lots of heat; (set to full heater) if you hear the fan but get no blowing air, then the door is shut, here again, switch the lines until you get an increase in airflow. Hope this helps.
