Got a warm day to wash the beater. Light fog and my lamp post made some nice lighting.

We have a 1995 Volvo 850 Turbo. I had a 1996 Volvo 850 GLT, which I sold to my son, and he is, currently, still using. I like this series of Volvos and the Turbo models are quick, nimble, and comfortable.

Also, have a 1969 Datsun Roadster 2000. It was my brother's car before he passed away in 1987. He bought it for $500 in the 80's and my dad and I had to complete a head repair on it. It's parked, for now, but I hope to get it back on the road some time late fall.

I do like my '65 Riviera but my true favorite in my motley collection is this '66 VW Beetle. I bought the car in 2010 when it was in seriously dilapidated condition. It had been totally used up and then left to rot outside in 1990. I fixed the rust, painted some of the car with Krylon, totally rebuilt it mechanically, and redid the interior. It has served as my daily driver for the past 7 or so years (spring, summer, fall only since moving up north in 2013) and has racked up over 55,000 miles. I have driven the VW to both coasts and many places in between. It has been amazingly reliable all that time and its little '65 40hp 1200 engine gets 30 mpg. The body may be dinged, dented, and rough around the edges, but I love my little VW.

The beater hauling the borrowed cherry picker I used to drop in the aluminum headed 395" FE I built for it. And my road buddy Chopper on our first highway trip with the new engine today. This one is his favorite vehicle of mine. He insists on sitting in it even if I'm just working on it 20180821_182101.jpg 20180821_182040.jpg 20180820_190218.jpg 20180821_182615.jpg

66electrafied Just tossing in my nickel's worth

Just got this one, which is the next project. It's a 1953 Oldsmobile Super 88, yeah, not a Buick, but hey, who's perfect?
This car will be restored to stock with a couple of minor modern add-ins, such as an underdash A/C and electric wipers along with a usable radio. Motor-wise, it has a 303 Rocket V-8 that still runs, and a Hydramatic transmission. It'll be stock except for possibly electronic ignition.
It's a solid car in original condition with no rust except surface rust. No holes in it, it was parked since 1969. Had it running about 6 years ago, it did 100 mph on a tired engine.

The really nice thing about this car was that it was free, didn't cost me a cent. It used to be a parts car for a buddy who just moved to a different province. He didn't need anything off of it, so it's complete.

Came across a few older photos of my Cadillac from when I just got it. This supper club/night club used to be open in the 60s-70s, and about 10 miles east of the town I grew up in, located in a farmer's field just off the highway. The club is long gone, but the sign is still there......That's the Canadian border on the horizon. You can see for miles and miles out there.......

    gscalifornia Small blocks rule!!

For daily drivers I picked up a couple Isuzu Rodeo Sports, drove a rust free one back from Arizona to Minnesota then picked up a couple more on the cheap for parts. The white one in the middle is the best bodywise, the blue one is my trail driver and the silver one is strictly parts.
