I recently acquired a '67 GS with drums on all 4 corners. If I swap over the front to disc, can I use the same stock wheels - due to caliper fit? Is this mostly dependent on the size of the tires?
I like the stock wheel look, don't really want to change those out quite yet.
    Thanks.

1967 & 1968 a-body cars could be ordered with disc brakes (front). However, the calipers were four piston units and thus had specific wheels for those years.
Camaro & Firebird were the same .

Thanks for that info guys. It looks like there is one number to look for, a 15" wheel..which I don't have.

There are 14" wheels that fit on discs. In fact, if the wheels on your car are later model GS or Regal wheels they will work. I wouldn't necessarily assume the wheels on your car are the born with wheels.

Thanks Jason, I'll check into it a bit better. The car just showed up this afternoon, I'm going to jump this info over to a new thread on the car overall - 'Wet Behind the Ears'. (As long as a moderator has no problem with that).

I put disc brakes on two of my 67's and bought one with after market discs already installed. The 14" stock rims work, but are very close to the calipers. On one car we had to grind the calipers slightly to clear. The third car, the 67 Sportwagon has 15" repro wheels on it and they work fine with aftermarket discs.

I ran across a set of 14x6 for sale. Based on the numbers I can cipher out, one is a 78-87 wheel and one is a 73-77 wheel, with different backspacing. Would this indicate a front and rear wheel maybe, or just different wheels?

Basically, rims are rims. no differentiating between front & rear. Backspacing & bolt pattern are the differentiating factors. There is a difference for '67 & '68 disc brake rims as 4 piston calipers were used & require specific rims for those units. Also, early on, there were rims for drum brakes that could not be used on disc brake calipers.
