HI Guys,. I'm working on a '66 Lesabre and desperately seeking a good set of hood and trunk letters. The previous owner repainted the car (badly) and most of the letters are missing. If I had known how hard it is to get these, I would've welded up the holes and not worried about them, but its too late now because I've just done a repaint. If anyone has a set, could you please get in-touch, it will be very much appreciated. Happy to pay a reasonable price for a good set. Thanks, Tinny Sydney, Australia
I've got a '66 Electra parts car. I believe all the letters are there. If they will work for you I can go to the farm and remove them and check condition etc. If they are in nice usable condition I would say $30 plus shipping. Let me know.
Mate, that would be excellent if you have them, it would be very much appreciated. I got a set from a shop that were supposed to fit '66 on, but the pins didn't line up with the holes, and I tried them on both the hood and trunk. So you can check, I just measured the 'B' and its 11/16 high. But don't make a special trip if its out of your way, I can wait until your next farm visit. Thanks again, I'll be looking forward to hearing from you. Cheers.
Hi Brian ( Mineseats9 ), Any chance you have checked on the Electra hood letters? No Hurry, just wondering. Cheers. Tinny
No mate, Thought I had it in the bag, had a big bid on at the last few seconds, but the winner was playing my game and beat me to it. They went for around $200 Aussie if I remember right. Not happy about missing out, so still chasing both hood and trunk letters, but I think they're made of unobtainium.
Be patient my friend. Someone will help you out. Check out this site as well... http://forums.aaca.org/forum/2-buick-clubs/
Two of the letters have one broken pin each from the hood. And the deck lid has no letters at all. I guess the Electra 225 only had the script in the corner. You can have all the hood letters for free if you pay shipping. Sorry I couldn't help more. Brian.
Thanks Brian, I have some of the trunk letters, but none of the hood letters, I'll grab what you have available. I appreciate you checking for me. If you send me an email to tinny1960@gmail.com we can talk payment etc I'll keep looking, but I need to respray the color and clear on the car because I stuffed the first attempt (I'm not used to spraying 2-pak), so I may just weld up the holes and be done with it. It's more work that I don't need, it may be my only option though. But I need to make a decision soon as I'm hoping to have it final painted in a few weeks. Cheers, Tinny
I just arranged to buy a '66 Wildcat and it may have some of the letters as well. I won't have it home for a couple weeks though.
