On my otherwise rust free 68 Wildcat, I have rust issues in the trunk on both sides behind the rear wheel wells. This rusts away even on salt free cars as there is a double wall construction to mount the second from rear chassis to frame mounts. This packs with dirt, dirt stays wet etc. etc. This makes me wonder if a repair panel exists to repair the lower part. In the trunk, after the lower repair, a piece of sheet metal cut to size will work fine. In general, I'm finding very little in the way of body parts for my car compared to other cars I have restored. Also, the car came without the threaded hook rod to secure the spare wheel. Does the wheel go in shiny side up or shiny side down? I will be going to the junkyard today trying to find one with the wing nut and the length would matter. Thanks, Gary
Gary, I wonder if a 68 Impala panel could be massaged to work? For consideration you could check Bobs Impala on line.
Thank's Mike! I went to the site and they had both left and right and they appear to be very close if not the same. To pass my mechanical inspection for plates, these areas have to be repaired. Thanks Gary
