Not mine. Beautiful car. I'll let you guys critique it. 1972 Buick Suncoupe GS?? Vin starts with 4D37J2H. Car has 455 auto, air, buckets. Ima be stupid and ask how I would tell its a 455 by looking at it? Distributor is in front of engine if that indicates anything. Car has no cowl tag!!

Tell me what you see and what it may be worth? $28.5K is the asking price. IMO that's strong for non GS with known missing parts and pieces.

    Its a Skylark, not a GS. I think code J is a 350 4 barrel with single exhaust. Easiest way to tell a 350 from a 455 is to count the valve cover bolts- 6 for a 350, 5 for a 455.

That's some strong money for a Skylark

    Things I see(Or don't)

    No rocker moldings
No GS badging(owner says it was removed during repaint because the red was different color)
No Suncoupe pin striping around halo and doors
    Wrong Steering wheel
No GS air cleaner( I have engine pic)
N-25 tips on a non N-25 bumper. Is that even the correct 72 bumpers?

The center console looks to have major pitting at shifter and no forward wood grain, its the right rear bumper but not for N-25 which look awful where they are. There is no GS badging, because it didn't have them to start with. I would be very cautious with this car

Anyone have the production numbers on these Sun Coupes? I know they made regular 350/2 and 350/4 barrel cars, Some GS 455, and a few Stage 1 cars.

I do like the sun coupes . Biggest problem I have noticed is once the top wears out and stops sealing they sit outside and rot away.
I remember seeing a really nice Green GS Stage 1 Sun coupe at the Nats one year. Did buick make any or was it a clone ? Just have to mention the horrible tips under the bumper , you can really ruin the look of any car with the wrong tailpipes or tips.

Yes they did make a few GS Stage 1's. Another member here restored one a few years back. That member had two Sun Coupes and has since sold both I believe. I was just wondering what the production number were out of all that were built. I know someone knows

Total Sun Coupe production was 3,943 per information acquired from Buick by Steve Caruso.
