I have owned a Grand National since '09. I had been looking for a 66-67 Skylark/GS for over a year. There are not many where I live in the NY/tri-state area. At least not that I have seen.

I found this car very local to me. It started out as a 67 Special Deluxe. The previous owners had swapped in a 430 from a Wildcat, and updated the paint and interior, and started adding things to make it look like a GS, like hood scoops, grille, badges.

It was not my intention to get a "clone" or "tribute" car, but I liked it enough, the price was right, and so I decided to just go with it.

It needs some details like missing trim, interior pieces and some cleaning up in the engine bay but it seems all the major work is already done. I will be on the hunt for parts.

    Some details:

Power steering & brakes (no other options to speak of)
    Leather custom interior
430 Wildcat engine rebuilt, Comp 268H cam, Edelbrock Performer intake, Edelbrock 800 carb
    ST400 trans
    Rear is stock
    Dual exhaust
    16" Torque Thrust wheels

I had no idea the GS was so much bigger than the GN.

I think it's just the pic. I have them side by side in the garage and he 67 is about 6" longer and a couple inches wider. Roofline is much lower though!

Nice! Saw that on Craigslist. That was a good deal! Bring it to Oakdale on Thursday.

Thank you for all the compliments. I just got it registered and I am working on a few things. Hopefully I will have it out very soon. Although the weather has not been cooperating much.

I have a '67 Special Deluxe the same color, loaded with Skylark options like top interior, ps & pb, ac. The grill is the same as a GS grill already, except it has a Buick tri-shield instead of the GS badge. I am not adding hood scoops or GS badging, but I like the almost-GS look almost as much as the real one!

Sharp car Anthony! What size tires are you running? Would it be too much trouble to request a side view shot? I am still to decide on wheels for my 67.

    Thanks

Thank you. The tire size is 225/50/16. In my opinion these tires are a little too short on this car. They are about 24.5" tall I think. I do plan on selling these wheels sometime not too far in the future. I will probably do a stock type wheel.

Thanks Anthony. I appreciate the pics. I have been thinking about going with 235/60/15. I don't have too many sizes and tire options to choose from here in NZ. Importing the tires is crazy expensive because they have to be fumigated before customs clearance--about 300 dollars just for that!

Sweet ride! I have a 67 Buick Special as well. You can get 275's in the rear with the correct offset rims. I'm running 235/40 R18 on the front of mine. Back is 275/40 R18. Zero offset rims is what worked for me in the front and back.

Yes I have many pictures. These wheels and tires are going to be up for sale in about a week. All brand new. Bought these a few months ago.

When I bought the car it had 17" rims on it which I'm considering selling as well. Front is 245/45 R17. Back is 274/40 R17. American Racing Torque Thrust Aluminum Rims.

Looks good with those 18's. Mean! Good fitment too. Why are you selling them? Also I saw on your photobucket the same black valve covers I have. Do you know who makes them? Was your car up for sale on eBay last year it looks kind of familiar to me somehow. Very nice looking car you have there.
