In tonight's installment, I keep cutting... and cutting
    [IMG]

remove the bottom because it's not correct
    [IMG]

    cut and fit
    [IMG]

    chill bar and tacks
    [IMG]
    flip, chill and tack
    [IMG]

    line the lip up
    [IMG]

put the door on to start the fitting

I'm not complaining, I suspect that I lost the stand; not that they didn't pack it - and they sent me a replacement for free (thanks SpeedMaster).

and the project stack. I had to oil change the Colorado so space needed to be made

it doesn't take that much time (unlike the folks that do videos), and it's fun sharing my passion with others - so it's really no trouble. Thanks for liking it.

in the interest of being public about tricks.

The reason I pinned the fender on and haven't welded it in place is because it takes me a couple days to decide whether or not I like it. Right now, the sides are not the same; however, I like right side where the bottom edge moves up to the bumper - stock, it's flat to the bumper - so I'll probably be cutting the other side to make it the same as this time (which is not the same as GM built it).

while I wait for parts on another project, time to move this forward
was looking at someone else's wagon and realized that the sedan and wagon are different at the ground
    [IMG]
the bumper is a bit below that rocker line.... good thing I caught it now

it runs, it was really cheap, I have no immediate use for it. though I do have this evil thought about bolting some turbos on it just to see what would happen.....

    number 8 looks pretty good

oil smells of carbon, but no water.... seems like a solid motor and thinking of making this old welding stand a start stand...

There's a lot of bouncing between the Buick and the Corvette as both are in their body-work phase
the gas filler... the issue was GM put sealer behind the door... trapped water
    [IMG]
the 'fix' is make this parallel with the ground (like the other side)
    chop chop
    [IMG]
not sure this is the piece....

did a bunch of grinding and chopping, hopefully tomorrow I can get to welding

since my other project is still drying....
this right corner is going to be the death of me -
    [IMG]

    so split
    [IMG]
    clamp
    [IMG]
weld - if anyone is watching Bitchin boot camp... this is not the 'right' way..... and if you watched last week, someone got sent home for it... alas my dream of being a Kindigee is done
also, whoever owns this car.... I don't want to hear about it... you knew about this thread and if you were too lazy or whatever, it's not my problem. whew, that unpleasantness is done ;)

    onto the gas door

Sunday, mostly I went to Portand (3 hour drive a direction) to visit my parents and pickup a couple things
    tires
    [IMG]
    and a Craigslist motor
    [IMG]
bad story behind that motor - it isn't what was promised (bad rod, not bad headgasket, not L67).... ah well, it was the 2nd or third reason to go

anyway, on to more pleasant things.... welding and grinding
    rust converter
    [IMG]
    final fit
    [IMG]

    tacked
    [IMG]
with no way to get behind the piece, old screwdrivers make great pullers
    [IMG]

    welded but low
    [IMG]

with a bit of convincing, straight
    [IMG]

    now body work

Just came back to your thread. Are you going to use any of the vinyl interior seat material? It matches my interior and I have few rub markets in places. Thought maybe I could salvage some pieces. Looking at the dates now I kind of doubt it.

I still have the entire interior, but at this moment I need what I have to use as patterns.... once that's done, there should be some.

That would be great. One doesn't see that pattern too much. Please let me know, I follow your build. Quite a project you have going on!

As far as gas tanks go if you want one behind the pumpkin below the rear floor, check out a 91-96 RoadMaster Wagon gas tank.
