Can someone with the inventory of parts step up and post a detailed set of instructions, illustrations and pictures of what it takes to use brackets pulleys etc. off a 350 to put on a 455 and what parts are needed to make the swap?

Best I can do right now Mike.:)

  5. @LARRY70GS will these frame pads work on a 69 skylark frame for the swap? I was on the TA performance website and they don't have a picture of them. However they are twice as much. Screenshot_20200421-144740_Amazon Shopping.jpg

TA, OPG, Year One sell reproduction pads that look like these.
You can get them in aluminum or cast. They fit the existing frame holes. And set the engine to the correct height. Not sure if the ones you posted will orient the same way, or if you will need to drill the frame to fit them. (and if so, getting the holes in the right spot will be a bit of a challenge unless someone laid out a template from the same year/make/model frame.)

I re-used my alternator bracket from 68 Skylark, and used the '67 Electra Power Steering bracket. I tried the one from my 350, but I did not like it sitting up so high, the 225 bracket leaves it lower and looks much better. But it did work.

I used a 6 inch crank pully, and 6-1/2 fan pully.

    I'll go take pics.

    brb...

Sorry, they will not work. You must use the TA Performance or stock frame pads. See the post above. Yes, this is an expensive hobby.

    Hope these help.

    First is frame pad/motor mount.

Rest show pulleys, belts and brackets.

(for those wondering, the blue tape on the distributor cap is the "O ring". I leave it off until I get done with oil prime and the several times the distributor is in and out during the build. It makes it easier to put in and take out and less likely to cut or nick it. I tape it there so I don't forget to put it on before firing it up.) :D

  9. Awesome info thanks! I just ordered the square looking ones with bolts included. @TrunkMonkey so you don't think this bracket will work for the power steering?

That is the 1968- 1970 set up, but you are missing two pieces, a front and back bracket.

Yes, that's the setup I had. The belt may contact the rib circled, so do a fit check and see. You can file and smooth that rib just to clear, and as long as it is smooth, it should not cause any trouble if the belt whips up against it.

  14. We'll give it hell soon. Literally just had a tornado go by.... in NJ, by the shore. Something is gonna kill me this year, either COVID, this car or a natural disaster lol:eek::eek:

  15. Ok so I have a little bit of free time now, I'm trying to put on the big block pads. Do I have to take the whole front suspension to get access in order to line up the bolts? Only bolt I have been able to put on is the driver side to front 20200427_152621.jpg

Yeah, that's a famously tough job. You aren't the first one to experience it.

  17. Ok. It's fine I wasnt sure if I was going to take all that apart without knowing there was maybe another way. Thanks.

There probably is. I would wait until others can post. Sort of like that center header bolt, everyone has a trick or shortcut for it.

  19. Will do, I tried a swivel joint but not a swivel socket yet. Either way the weather isn't cooperating, I'll wait and give it a try tomorrow. Btw @LARRY70GS thanks for always helping out.
