If my wife didn't hate these cars so I'd already have that one in my garage, I love it!

I just realized, that's $3900 Canadian or about $2800 US. Here I was thinking $3900 US was a good price.

If the odometer is in kilometers that would convert to less than 40k miles

    very nice!

I hear ya, but if it's in as good a shape as it looks it's very, very tempting. Especially for the price. Besides I wouldn't part it out. More like swap out stuff that is in better shape than mine.

By law, September 1977 is when Canadian cars had to switch to metric speedo and odo. Not sure which manufacturers went ahead before that date, but 74 is definitely in miles.

It's definitely miles, not one manufacturer made a metric speedo before the law was enacted.
Our current esteemed Prime Minister's father sprung that on us in an attempt to "wean us off the capitalist decadent monopolistic United States" and bring us more in line with the Commie countries in Europe he so fervently admired. After yesterday's bald faced attempt to do an end run around parliament, his boy proved that the apple didn't fall far from the tree...and I'll stop there.

And Walter, it would be a shame to part that thing out. I get it, there are a lot of good parts on it. But...that thing is a nice preservation piece. It looks like it spent most of it's life in a garage, the lenses aren't even clouded up. I would buy it tomorrow, but I'm trying to downsize and get ready for retirement. I have to decide which convertible is going to go, and not go out and pick up yet another garage queen.
I really hope this thing goes to a good home and isn't broken up for the options and a few bits. Sure, that 350 is a bit lame, the 455 would have been better, and it's a Grampa car, but damn, it's nice...

    eeehhrrr Marc,
so we are commies because we use the metric system....
maybe Canada just followed its Queen when the UK became communist, i.e. adopted the metric system sometime in the 60ies...
sorry, but I do not feel communist.

My apologies for the misunderstanding, I should have been more clear.
I wasn't thinking of Germany, France, or western Europe who've been using the metric system since the 1790s.
Pierre Trudeau was very much enamoured with the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China as a young man. He was even flagged by the RCMP during the late 40s and again in 1952 when he went to the USSR. He stayed there quite a while, and at the time was listed as a closet Marxist. Sure, as he grew older, he "matured" in his thinking, but he had this real soft spot for China and Cuba and even cut deals with them long before it was popular or permissible.
The UK adopted the metric system out of necessity, having to deal with the ECM, I think it was one of the prerequisites of entry. Ostensibly Trudeau wanted Canada to be more European minded, and hopefully more Socialist than the European Common Market, and he wanted us out of the US orbit. In the end, he got nothing but a mess as Canada officially converted to the metric system but still did business in the standard system. That's still the case.
Trudeau was a very controversial Prime Minister; the central part of the country loved him and reveres him to this day, and anything west of that place detests him with a hatred that borders on pathological. I guess I definitely one of the later. The father ruined whatever chances I had of going to university and getting a real career by single-handedly creating the worst recession since the depression. The son (who are now suffering with) is now ruining my chances of a retirement by ruining the economy inflating the money supply to absolute worthlessness.

Wow what a deal! I think that interior pattern could cause seizures if you stare at it too long. Great cruiser I bet.
