What is the difference between these two windshield wiper casting numbers that are located on the back of the housing?

    4918077 and 4939300

Which is the correct part number or casting number for a 70 GS windshield wiper assembly?

Do the units have the silver sticker on the front. Those stickers have the date codes printed on them. That would give you your answer.

Silver sticker was worn away and blank. I think that number is suppose to be 5044756. However the question I have is the casting number on the back that faces the firewall. I’m not sure what 4918077 and 4939300 are for.

I know what you are asking.
I was thinking the numbers may have been used for different year units, therefore if you could read the date codes off the stickers you would know which one was correct.
From what I remember the ones on my 1970 cars had the gray rubber insulators.

I just checked the 70 Assembly Manual and the part number for the entire assembly is #5044756

It does not list any casting numbers, however it does state the following on page 1-7.3, "Light Gray Grommet Identifies This Motor Assembly". (Where the wires go into the housing)
This would ID it for a 1970 A-body Buick depressed park wiper motor assembly.

Thanks. I just had mine rebuilt and it left with one number and came back with the other. So I was curious to see what the casting numbers meant. The rebuilt unit does have grey grommets installed on it. I might just be reading to much into it.
