Has anyone ever purchased something through Ebay Motors? I have potentially a deal that on appearance, seems almost too good and am wondering if it's safe? The instructions are to purchase Ebay gift cards for the purchase value which supposedly will be held as "escrow" until the item purchased is delivered and I am satisfied with it's condition. It's a large item, seems "strange" to me. Thoughts or comments? Steve
I have been been using Ebay for 19 years and this seems strange to me... i wouldn't do that... probably a scam.

Trailers seem to be the biggest scam on E-Bay and Craigslist . Cargo and RV trailers . Craigslist especially when they have an E-Mail across the picture
Maybe trailers are the bait because of the demographics of the customer seeking them-likely to be older, likely rural and maybe more trusting, plus ready and able to drop several grand without financing. Patrick Also a lot fewer questions for the scammer to answer about one.
It was on Craigslist. I see the ad isn't there anymore but here was the link (below). I was suspicious from the start because it was listed so cheap...figured that was the bait and if anything, the deal would change afterwards if it wasn't an outright scam. The location was supposed to be local to me so I thought, safe enough if I go see it but, they never answered the question as to exactly where it was. If it sounds too good to be true .... it is. I accidentally clicked on "is this still available ?" while checking out a Facebook Marketplace ad for a drag along trailer that was easily worth 4-5 grand. They were asking $1000. Never had a response so fast...... Scumbag scammers.....JIM
