I would be interested in doing some trading for a 70-72 skylark convertible body and GS hood. It MUST be rust free no patch panels.... With it I would be interested in an LS3 6.2 with trans. Other parts, pro charger, coil over tubular suspension, 4 wh disc brakes and 9" rear. I am thinking of doing a 70 front with 71 rear N25 bumper restomod. I have absolutely No interest in anything or parts with rust. I am not looking for a GS because of the modifications that I am doing. Send me a PM with what you have... Thanks
Well Nelson, this might NOT be as radical as you want, but it sure is an AWESOME-seat-of-your-pants monster 462...all dolled up and ready to go too!!! Originally birthed as a 71 Skylark, Reborn in its later years into a 462GS Stage 1 "X" Tribute... AWESOME CAR. However, might be too good to cutup to make into what you're planning to do... The 71 rear bumper just has a better look to it. License plate location, the 71 bumper looks smaller..
Nope, Different bumpers, brackets, rubber spacers etc. If you ever wondered why your rear bumper did not quite fit correctly it is often due to using the wrong year rubber spacers behind the bumper. They have totally different cross-sections. Duane
Duane isn't the angle of the filler neck also different? Seems I could purchase a 71/72 tank years ago with the neck attached but for a 70 tank I needed to reuse the old neck.
Ryan, Yeah, I forget which car we were working on but the rear bumper would just not line up right. I had both the 70 style & 71-72 style rubber spacers and once the correct ones were installed it was a done deal. They aren't too much different but they are different enough. The license plate doors are different also and so are the small rubber filler pieces on the ends. Duane
Ok wait a minute know I’m not in agreement. I must like butt’s because I like the 70. This leads me to a question about gas tanks. Is the 70 and 71^ different? Gary
