Hello everyone out of the blue my car won't start, from the ignition switch. I jumped it from the purple wire and I could get it to turn over. I looked at my fuse panel and didnt see a fuse attached to the ign start, where can I look from here?

The actual switch is at the base of the steering column. Theres a plastic gear behind the key / lock assembly that pushes a rod in the bottom of the column that activates the switch. any one of those 3 things could be causing your issue. It could also be nothing more than a broke wire.

As long as the key turning feels normal and If it has tilt try moving the wheel all the way up and then try it or all the way down and try it .

Can you tell me where its located on the car, is it the wire that attaches to the starter, outside of the main power wire?

The wire is attached to the starter, its one one part that goes on the starter solenoid, then 2 wires on the other end that you should solder to the 2 wires of similar color and length ,hard to make a mistake, because you can see how they were attached. And make sure you take the negative cable off,so that you don;t have a hot wire in there.Bruno.

The fusible links are the last 6" of main harness right where it bolts to the large lug on the starter solenoid.

Thanks guys I will be hopefully attacking this tomorrow, or by the weekend at the latest, and really hope the fusible link is the issue!

The MOST likely cause of your problem is a loose or broken connection at the battery or starter. Look at that first. Don't just replace parts without testing first.

What Larry said - especially if everything appears to be dead.

I had my '72 die on me on the road (you never realize how much you like power steering until it isn't!) and while everything looked good under the hood it was simply a loose battery connection.

Yep battery connects are good, as well as voltage to the starter and connects were good. Will check the fusible links towards the column today. Thx everyone for the help and will post the fix once I find it hopefully

No, the fusible links are not towards the column, they are at the starter. Perhaps this will help,

Oh no Larry sorry I worded it incorrectly, i know the links are on the starter, but I'm working my way from the starter towards the column, because i know everything from the starter to the front are good!
