Was the epoxy wet sanded or was it flow coated?

I am not sure. I haven't talked to Rich yet, just got the email with pictures along with the detail "One coat of sealer, 4 coats of base followed by 4 coats of clear". I am guessing it was flow coated judging from the pictures of the doors.

They sanded the sealer ,..if they flow coat it, it will be sanded down and recleared in a couple weeks

    More photos.

When I bought this car I was committed to keeping it the original color. Green probably wouldn't have been been my first choice but it's not like I got to order it from Buick exactly the way I wanted it. It's what I found when I was looking for a project car. HOWEVER, the first photo below makes me think I made the right choice. That Sherwood Green sure pops in the sun! I can't wait to see it all put together.

Keep in mind the frame, bottom of the body, trunk, and passenger compartment are already painted so things should come together nicely now.

I use PPG ECP-17 High build primer in this case dry sanded to 600.
That is what you see in the before paint shots.

Shot one thinned coat of sealer followed with 4 coats of Sikkens Code 48 Sherwood Green water base, followed by 4 coats Sikkens Superior 250 high solids clear.

Yes, this color really flip flops from very dark blackish green to a very brilliant pepper green with gold under hues depending on your perspective and light quality.

The arduous journey of wetsanding, followed by 3 step 3M polishing system will commence next week.

Now I am off to MCACN show in Chicago to display a customer's 1969 GTO Judge I restored a few years ago. 20170409_104041.jpg
It will be in Jim Mattison's Pontiac GTO Ram Air Display.

Looks awesome! I’m doing one right now, same color. I love Sherwood Green, there aren’t that many around so it’ll really stand out from the red, black, blue etc. Mine has the pearl white bucket interior and i always loved that combo .... My painter wants to spray mine with all the parts on it for some reason? Other cars I’ve had painted were apart like your pics ... I’m not a paint expert so I’m not sure which way is better? Can’t wait to see yours all put back together. Merry Christmas!

Beautiful. Here's my old '70 350 4-sp. w/green interior too (PPG Paint). I should have pics of it w/chrome wheels too if you want to see what yours will look like done. FB_IMG_1487052544261.jpg

Looking great. 70 Buick A Body's are so clean. Love the photos.

Stacy I have to ask about your avatar pic. Denver Buick dealer emblem. Are you from Denver? My 66 Sporty was bought new there. Coincidentally I work in the building that was built on their dealership.

Its still coming together but progress has had a hitch in it's giddyup while the Canada/US border was closed. I shipped Rich what I could afford to ship him via Fedex, some stuff from Todd at Diecast Musclecars is MIA with the USPS. Todd filed a lost shipment claim. Now that the border is scheduled to open in August, I am taking all the parts that I have to Rich. He has been hand to mouth on parts and has worked around it by restoring everything else he can. Engine and frame have been reunited. I also managed to find a set of NOS windshield washer nozzles on Craigslist! Photos below.

The progress looks nice, and just like everyone else, I am excited to see how this build will turn out.
