I've been told, several months back, that NEW 54mm solid roller cam cores, that can be ground on a 116+ LSA were "in the works"... Any "updates"??? I've talked to TA Mike, basically he says "no", and that it's almost not feasible for him to even have cams like this, the "demand" is pretty small, so the potential of having expensive inventory is not "appealing".... Scott Brown had mentioned trying to get cams like this too, on our last conversation, he basically said "nothing yet, there are "alternatives" but they are expensive"! Wait, there are cheap parts!!!! Anyone else out there got anything in the works?? I do know there's guys out there just waiting for a "standard" 54mm roller cam core, and I'm looking for one even more "specific", I may have been ahead of your game, but we all seem to be waiting for something to help our Buick Builds...... I might end up having mine "re-ground" to "work" under boost, trying to build something "max effort", but stuck with a"minimum effort" CAM, kinda bothers me........

A month or so back I was scanning thru some different cam manufacturers websites. I happened upon this place called GS Products, (nothing to do with a Gran Sport by the way!)

They manufacture their own cams and other engine components. They do list Buick V-6 and V-8 cams as an option but they don't list any specific grinds. They also list cams for Duramax Diesels and Cummins Diesels as well.

They specifically state that they can custom make any cam up to 70mm, as per a customers specific order.

Disclaimer! I didn't call them, I haven't used them, I haven't heard of anyone who has. But I thought it might just be possible that a company like this could meet a need in the Buick...or GS community. ;)

They are in eastern Pennsylvania. Here's a link and then a couple screen shots...

Gary I'm down at the NATS and this gentleman had a display set up with some slick billet valve covers and 54mm cam blanks. He said they were available.

I also saw the un machined blanks at the nationals. tried to find JW to ask if it was something I needed to buy for the build were doing. I know he was there just could not locate him. Cody said a finished product was 6 weeks out from the time he got the specs and payment

But the big question I need answered is “can these 54 mm cores be ground on 116+ LSA”.. The TA ones cannot.. If these are just cores to help have them out there, competition for TA, OR are they going to work for even more specific Buick combinations..
    Excited, but still questionable....

Given that picture. It looks like one could make those cam have any lsa anyone could dream of seeing that nothing has been profiled

Yeah, and it makes me wonder when having it ground if it is going to cost more because the profile isn't roughed in?

Probably will, but hey they are available as nd they can be made to do whatever the designer wants, guess that's the price to pay to get a truly custom cam. And not have a project stalled out waiting, or leaving power on the table from trying to make something else fit
