I have the Visible Chassis model. Its made to fit the visible V8. Has working hydraulic brakes, visible manual transmission and visible rear axle. Its over 3 feet long when assembled

    HECK YEAH!
I forgot about the chassis you could buy/build for the Visible V8, that thing was the cats ass:cool:
I remember my Dad taking me to the hobby shop, and I'd stare at that model like Ralphy looking at the Range Rider Rifle in Christmas Story:D
Jason you still have the model chassis?
    If so, post pics!!!

I saw that chassis model through the corner of my eye on ebay.. Never looked at it and realized it was meant for the Visible V8 model:cool:
Yes thanks for digging out the pic Jason;)

Brandon, years ago I saw a miniature gas engine on the show Tool Time, I wasn't sure if it was real, as Tim Allen had some stupid stuff:rolleyes: wondering if this conleyprecion link sponsered the motor?!
Edit: Sad that a huge fire destroyed all the the molds and and AL pieces to where everything was just a blob of metal after. He lost all his V8 tooling too I believe:(
Starting at well over $8,000 though is a heck of a hobby:D

I received the model yesterday and i'm kinda surprised how small it is, or at least the pistons as I first noticed. They aren't even a inch wide. It's all good though.
The glue I ordered is another story. I ordered 3 things at once, the model itself, the exacto knife set and the glue. They shipped the model and knife set in separate boxes with Amazon shipping and those 2 boxes came to my door. The glue was shipped with USPS and was tried to be delivered , but the Columbus day postal worker doesn't have a key to get into my buildings post box area so I got a notice.
Reason i'm mentioning it is I can't believe how hard it is to find and buy Testor's plastic model glue by the old way of shopping...In a store!! I went to Walmart and they didn't have it, Rocky's Ace was a no, and there's no more Toy's R Us anymore. I was only able to find Testor's metal and stone glue and wood:mad:
The knife set was put in a HUGE box that would of fit a 100 sets with no bubble or wrapping whats so ever, it was hilarious:D I don't know how the plastic box the knives came in didn't pop open??

Yup, strange but true..USPS.. even on Sundays but only if it's something from Amazon as far as I know .. I haven't ordered from any other sight but they probably ship USPS on Sundays too ?? The only problem is it doesn't come from the local PO branch that ships regular and they don't have a key to get into the buildings post box area. My intercom doesn't work for some reason with my phone's area code or I would go outside and meet them..
I called my local PO branch this morning about the glue package too see if it will come today, if it makes to them from the other PO branch it was sent from originaly before the regular delivery man leaves I might get it, if not i'll get it tomorrow:eek:
You know there is a Michael's somewhere within 10 or 15 miles I think, nice thought..
There's a tiny little craft store near me within walking distant, the lady that owns it teaches craft making to elders mostly I think. The problem is she is sometimes at a craft show and closes the shop.
I have her card somewhere, thanks I will see if I can find it.

There's a seller on Ebay who want's $50 and $50 for shipping for a "Empty" box.. of this chassis model!!! Nothing but air in the box, no instructions or anything!!
Jason. i'm just curious if you make it complete with the added visible V8, can you use the electric motor and spin the motor?

I paid $425 for it like 20 years ago. I've seen them sell for upwards of $750. It's hard to find one completely unbuilt and with all the parts accounted for.

If you put the v8 in it, you can make the whole driveline spin

Yes, the chassis ones seem to be starting at like $200 to $300 for a starting bid with even some not knowing if all the parts are there..
    Spinning driveline is pretty cool!
Iv'e noticed a few of just the V8 engine models where started to be built and usually ended at the just the rods on the crank being somewhat finished and left at that.

Your right, here's a example of one that could of been in the sunlight.
You can see the clear "block" is warped. The seller did mention it though.
Still he wan'ts good money. Now out of the blue there seems to be one person bidding constantly on all of these Visible V8's and i'm guessing to try and re sell higher..
I lost a bid for one over 50 cents and a total cost of $50 for a original one aghhh!! and now this one bidder is jacking up the prices, or it seems.
Haven't yet started on my new one with the crank but would of liked to have both..

Thanks Mike, that one model is nice and complete.
I had to bid $37 as the previous bidder had max bid for now. I think it will keep raising as one sold for $91 and i'm pretty sure it the same buyer who keeps bidding.
It's kinda ruthless and cut throat bidding also, trying to get them all to re profit, but it;s the world we live in. Ebay should really limit them but again it's about money and recently saw a thread here on Ebay's new prices for selling. I sold a few custom Star Trek phaser's with lasers and got nailed for at least $40 more on selling charges than I thought on each, basicly made nothing:mad:
Ebays formating drives me nuts.. I keep adding these models to my watch list but then when I go to look a little later everything I did link to watch is showing unwatched.
Maby i'm doing something wrong?? It's frustrating as after a while the picture's of the box all look alike..

I did win a incomplete model for $7 that was put together but is basicly a short block. It has to what looks like the little motor on it as that was the most important part for me. It also looks like the motor has the plastic driver gear on it. Most of the models that show all the parts, show the motor with the gear already attached to the little shaft but I saw one model that showed it without..
Whether I can use this motor on my new crank style V8, I don't know??
