1984 Riviera opera lights

    ANyone know how to remove the lenses to change the bulb? These are the lights on the outside sail panels (opera lights)

    The white insert behind the clear lens is the bulb. The chrome trim ring is attached to the car and the clear has tabs that snap into it. The white part is glued to the clear.

    Apparently a lot of these things are electroluminescent and even have an AC converter-you probably want a service manual before you start taking things apart...

    I have a few that are in to bad of condition to be used if he wants to dissect one

    I remember my 82 Century Landau had the luminescent ones, the first ones I remember was on our 76 Eldorado Biarritz , I miss opera lights

    So there is no bulb just an LED? Does that mean that you have to change the whole unit if it’s burned out?

    Yep, but I dont think its a real LED. and no one makes these

    How does it detach from the car? I wonder if anyone has retrofitted them with leds before

    The chrome outer ring is screwed to the car and the center snaps into it. Be very careful as to not brake the clips. I can post up a few pics if needed
