Fine Summer afternoon, old car needed gas before venturing out to run a few errands. Take it down to the local gas-bar, this one has both self & full serve lanes. Spy a new kid working the full serve & can't resist.
Park it, shut it off & roll the window down. "Yes sir, can I help you ?" "Fill 'er up hi-test, please." Kid walks around the back & ventures over to the side closest the pump. You can see the look on his face when he realized the old fart driving this old time tin put it on the wrong side. He comes around with a look of satisfaction, just like the cat who ate the hummingbird. Ready to ask the the old guy to move it around the other side & thinking to himself " Geez, hope I'm in not that bad when I get to his age".
Right at the LH quarter he notices no gas cap on that side either ! Goes back to the RH side to double check, returns again to the LH side. Genuine confusion has erased the smirk of a few moments ago ! No, he doesn't want to ask the old fart driver. Yesterday he got the job only after convincing the Owner he was a B student with a mind for auto-mechanic training later on & he's certain he knows everything there is to know about putting gas in a car.
Goes inside to ask the cashier about these old cars, she doesn't know either !"You're working gas today, figure it out" .After a couple more minutes I get out , wave him over & show him how it's done. Second time, 2-3 weeks later he knew just what to do.

He probably only drive it once every couple of weeks. I'll burn most of a tank going to a cruise in or car show in the next town

Tim Hortons on a Saturday morning or running a few errands during the evenings through the week. That's about it. Immediately after I swapped it to floor shift with a console & a new steering column I had an issue. New ignition cylinder came apart as the tabs weren't tabbed hard enough. Had to push it backwards to get it out of the parking spot at Tim's. Needed to get the nose out to load it onto a ramp truck. Blocking the drive-thru lane at a Tim's in Canada is a serious offence ! Got it home, backed it into the garage & left it there for 2 weeks. Didn't even want to look at it. While later, put the old cylinder back in & things were fine.

    Bouncing to fill??
car above has an unleaded only baffle in the filler neck...mine doesnt.
Do I refit the cap or leave it off when bouncing.
As I said a few posts ago mines showing 3/4 on gauge when its full at the pump.
So Im gonna try the bouncing, though with new springs and Koni shocks its not prone to bouncing.

I never replace the cap even on my diesel truck when filling and shakeing it.
Just needs to move a little to burp air out.
