I run 295/65-15 with 3:73's and @ 65mph RPM's are about 2650. Taller tire is good option if running lower gears IMO...still plenty of grunt out of the hole.

Steve your tires are 30" tall too, and the formula I used shows your should be 2700ish so it does work out close in real world backing

    Ben,
Yep, the formula seems pretty much right on...Larry also plugged in the #'s a few weeks ago and came out with the same result.

Yes, 3.73's with a 30" tire makes your final gear 3.31. Use a 275/50-15 at the track (26")

Any guess what the ET difference would be with 275/50-15 vs 295/65-15? Also wonder how the 275 vs 295 would hook, the 295's hook really well, at least with small sample on street so far since car is freshly done and I haven't/won't totally flog it on street.

I hook with 275/60R-15 Mickey Thompsons Drag Radials. The shorter tire will let you RPM through the traps where you are making maximum HP.

10/4. If you hook I'm sure I would too. Will probably use the 295's as a baseline and then change to the 275's + mount the 275's on lighter wheels to see the difference . I like the look of the 295/65's on the street.

How about a Coan 20320-2 4000 stall converter and a 3.08 gear and use 26" to 30" tires to fine tune the rpm range.
