Working on a 1966 Wildcat and I need to rebuild the centerlink, but I can't figure out why people want $300 or more to do this. It looks pretty straight forward: press out the old rod ends a press in new ones. Am I missing something? Thanks for the education.

Don't think it's quite as simple as that plus where do you source the needed parts from???

I don't know Tom I was going to call and ask you, but I guess you took care of that. I just needed to hear it is not as simple as I thought. I will be shipping the centerlink out to be rebuilt. Rareparts.com seems to be the place to go, any opinions or other reputable places to rebuild the centerlink?

    Thanks,
    Bryan

An old friend in Erie Pa rebuilds tie rod ends. I can't speak for the price but I know he does quality work and he is a car guy. Dias spring service, Ken Dias is the owner and the man to speak to. It's worth the call.

Try Cars at oldbuickparts.com...I believe they carry the Rare Parts rebuild but at a better price...at least that was the case a few years ago. Good luck!

Are you still looking for the 66 Wildcat centerlink? I have a new, ES730 centerlink, should fit a 66 Wildcat with power steering. It would be a different part without power steering. When I follow threads on this site, or have my mechanic do a part search through the national NAPA data base, it shows that to be the correct part. I can post detailed pictures, you confirm it is the correct part for your application. Thanks, Mitch

    ES730 WILL NOT fit a Wildcat --
    ES730 is 1966 - 1970 Buick --- LeSabre -- ONLY.

Rare Parts is the only place for an actual quality R & R....
If you haven't sent it in already,vI am a Rare Parts Dealer and may be able to save you some money on an R & R,
Through my account.... P M me if interested..... Craig...

    Hi Craig,
Thank you for the correction on the ES730 centerlink. I'm newer to working with Buick parts, and its difficult to find complete and accurate information on the web. I do have a NEW ES730, which I will correctly post as a 66-70 LeSabre w/ PS part.
If you knew Gary M from Elgin IL. I purchased a few cars and NOS Wildcat parts from the family when he passed. If I post any other parts wrong, please take a moment to correct me. Thanks for your time, Mitch
