I hate to be an ass or pushy but closed mouth dont get fed. So, with that said. I'm drowning out here so somebody chime in! Help your lil Buick brother out!
I laughed so hard when you wrote "no stupid" lol thanks man for throwing me a life saver. thanks for the advice and the part name.
To remove rust I always use Nylon brush wheels on a drill. they clean rust much better than standard wire brush wheels as sometimes it feels like polishing the rust. Use body seam sealer. there are tons of youtube videos on how to apply it. I usually brush it on.
What grit do you start out with? I bought two nylon brushed, one 80 and 240 grit, should i get another.
take the rougher one first and at places where you have rust. after that use sandpaper. no need to wet sand for prepping for primer. I'd take some two component epoxy rattle can if you do not have acces to a spray gun. Always prime bare spots to avoid having surface rust again. try out all the stuff you have on spots that you can barely see when everything is together. there are many ways to get a good result and of 5 people asked you may get 3 or 4 different answers. I am about to do the same to my car in near future. you can search my thread 71 GS refreshening haha.
