As far as the cars and coffee thing goes, one thing I actually like about it is the variety. You just never know what you'll see. I'm fortunate enough to live 15-20 minutes from one of the fastest growing c&c events out there. It's been getting national press, even some manufacturers have been bringing yet-to-be released cars down. On good days, it's been known to break 1,000 cars and some really neat stuff. Sure, we get a bumper crop of stock late model whatever's, and I just casually stroll by, but that's only because it's not my cup of tea. Many guys are oogling over the mustangs awesome air filter, or that amazing cat back exhaust on the Camaro, whatever. At least they're out enjoying something related to the hobby we like. But there are also a lot of nice older cars, lifted trucks, Jeep's, exotics, just about everything. And they dont segregate, you can park where ever. I actually like it that way. Usually me and my buddies all meet up before and arrive together so we can park together, but that's a convenience thing since we're all hanging out.

But as was indicated by another post. Yeah, a ZL1, ok whatever. I'm sure it's fun to drive, but not mind blowing to see in my opinion. But 2 dozen stuffed animals? Sorry if that's your thing, but it's just dumb. It's a car meet, not a furry convention....

How do y'all feel about the guys that put their toy, ummm, diecast version of their car on their air filter? Sometimes on a stand, etc.

I`m curious the motivation for the unicorns has anyone bothered to ask?

The Cars and Coffee here is mostly a millennial event. Us old guys are in the minority, as are our kind of cars. It's a whole different world. I had the windows down on my car and even opened the door so some of the kids could look inside. Once again, in the minority. Most of the other cars had their windows up, many were locked, and some were even alarmed. Many of the cars were not cleaned up.

I get it, the millennials view it as a social event and the cars are secondary. That's fine. I had a great time. A steady stream of old guys stopped to look at my car and we chatted. Some of the younger people did as well. It's just kinda sad to see our hobby in decline, though.

Ya, I'll admit it. I went there once. Just wanted to do something different that day. Took one of the work trucks to a show. 0409111637a.jpg

We have a couple, in our area, with a tutone blue '57 Ford. They call the car Smurffee. They surround it with stuffed animals and crybabies. It sure seems to keep people from getting too close to the car. ;):D:rolleyes:

My daughter would love this. It would for sure be her favorite car there. But she's 5! I can only guess it's maybe to get kids engaged somehow, which isn't a bad thing. Maybe it's a bit misguided though.

Where I am, Car and Coffee is mostly vintage cars. Windows down etc, and it does have millennials that attend. In reality, any car meet is a social event, but we do prioritize our cars. It will always be hit or miss at car meets though. Car culture and taste varies across the country. That's why they have "Donks" in the south which are not my cup of tea haha but I guess whatever floats their boat. The best meet out here in CA, in my opinion, is the good guys car show.

Born in 90 so unfortunately I will be labeled as infamous millennial but my taste in cars is pretty damn good if I own a 70 Buick, 70 Mustang Convertible and a 2010 Challenger modeled after a 1970 Challenger . I am sure there are plenty of us who enjoy these vintage cars. I've had around 13 different vintage cars in my lifespan and I don't plan on stopping now. I can do without the Unicorns, but I'm also glad they are making an attempt to get into the car culture. I think younger crowds would be getting into classic cars more if they weren't as expensive as they have gotten.

All those stuffed animals will go back on her bed when she gets home.

Clean the rims, gloss the tires and next time leave the stupid animals home and fix the rock chips and remove the bugs from the front you lazy lump !

Last year at the first show of the seson a brand new vett with shipping plactic on the seats and dealer plates got a top 25 award. Really ticked me off because there was some great rare iron there.

So this year they were out interviewing people about how to make the show better. I said if they were going to give an award to the sponcer then buy a plaque for them don't take it away from some person who has spent days pimping their car for the show.

Really takes some big ones to bring a fresh off the hauler to a show.

On that theme, if I still owned, and showed, my high school car, I'd have to have a blanket and condom wrappers in the back seat. Come to think of it, if there were one more wrapper, I may not have had to sell it.

Good to hear! My bride of 33 years is into cars and motorcycles as much as I am. Having her dad ride two-wheels and dirt track race on 4-wheels back in the day helped. We were finally able to get her "Dream Car" (Since I have mine) and she loves the newer cars that pay homage to the history of classic muscle; hence, her selection of a 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT 392.
