Can you swim to the reef or is a boat needed?

We went to Hemmingway's house in Cuba. His fishing boat is still there along with his gear and typewriter.

We also went to his apartment in Havana where he another typewriter. It still has fishing rods in a rack. I recall that they are made from wood but I would need to look back at some pictures we took to be sure.

The apartment was near a bar that he frequented. We went there and hung out in his favorite seat.

I believe that you can still go by air. Even 10 years ago you could go by Delta air charter with State Department approval. We left from Miami International. But, back then you were prohibited from secretly going to Cuba via another country, such as Mexico. A ship that flys another country’s flag is another country.

We loved the trip. We felt very safe. We stayed at Hotel International. We tried to stay in Lucky Luciano’s old room but it was taken.

The wild chickens having sex on the sidewalks and running under your tables at outdoor restaurants are a hoot. Don’t feed them. All the Bums ask for 27 cents or 11 cents or something. And man there are a ton of them. I guess I would rather be a bum in Key West than Boston or Nee York. It’s pretty weird.

Don’t forget to watch the sunset down at the waters edge. Everyone cheers. Pretty amusing.

I went to a friends wedding there. The funnest thing we did by far was renting scooters for the day and riding around the island. I would go back to Key West just to do that.

We did a snorkel trip from Robbie's in Islamorada. If you go there, be sure to feed the large tarpon fish by hand. That was a cool and memorable experience.

Google 'Robbie's Islamorada feed fish'. The teenagers will love that as well.

    Sloppy Joe's is a must.

The boardwalk/pier is cool to people watch.

Southern most point marker is cool.
