New glass all around ...but after squaring the rear glass all up,
the bottom corner areas are kind of thin on pavement..

Its pretty much about 3/16 " of channel left on both sides .....if I lower I lose on top

Is this normal/acceptable ....is it a go ??

You using urethane? It would be nice if it was a touch larger, but it will urethane in ok

Do you still have the old back glass? How does it compare dimensionally to the new glass? I suspect the new glass is smaller

I was thinking 3/8 Butyl and then fill the edge with urethane

I'd just urethane it, butyl tape isn't what it once was, I've seen it turn loose and piss many times,..i know it never looks as clean as tape but it's better than leaking or lifting especially with the new glass being lighter

yea I saved up my pennies and went all around with Pilkington some have made in USA stickers
some made in Mexico....I have nothing to compare to it but my original and boy are they lighter
but not impressed for the extra $$

i would do the dam and then Urethane but no room for both on the bottom corners

You can make a clean edge..... If you want a 1/2" border (or whatever) where the urethane goes, mask the glass 1/2" in from the edge with masking tape. Lay your bead of sealer, install glass, run your finger or suitable tool to smooth the urethane, then peel off the tape to produce a nice clean edge.
Do you have to first paint the glass and channel with primer on auto glass?

My latest experience is with specialty boat windows and marine-grade sealers. My workplace got a military contract to install some high-tech glass. I was the only engineer with previous glass-install experience (on my Buicks!) so I volunteered my expertise to develop the install process. That was a fun project.

Yea you can dam it up and all that extra stuff, but working in the package tray area of a 68/72 isn't easy unless your a 13yrold ukranian girl ha

I have taken a razor knife and cut the urethane after it setup but b4 it fully cured, didn't look to great in the bottom corners but looked much better every where else
